Steve Myers Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 20, 2025.
Steve Myers was born on July 4, 1950, in Ripon, Wisconsin. He grew up in Waupun and moved to Horicon as a freshman, graduating from Horicon High School in 1968. Following high school, he earned a Tool & Die degree from Moraine Park Technical School in West Bend and went on to work in several Tool & Die shops in the area. He later joined the family business, Myers Manufacturing, Inc. in Horicon, where his dedication and leadership eventually led him to serve as President.
Steve's greatest fortune, however, came in high school when he asked Mary Ann Utzerath to the prom. That invitation blossomed into a love story spanning 54 1/2 years. The two were married on February 13, 1971, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Steve and Mary Ann were blessed with three children-Robin, Jennifer, and Anthony-and later, a "six-pack" of beloved grandchildren: Olivia, Natalie, Jacob, Allison, Liam, and Owen. He was a devoted husband, father, and "Papa," who delighted in camping trips, fishing, vacations, golf outings, and simply being present for his family. He cheered at their sporting events, whipped up his famous chocolate chip pancakes and smoothies, and created countless cherished memories.
An avid sports fan and outdoorsman, Steve attended Super Bowls and Rose Bowls, enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, and especially loved the game of golf. He spent many years at Old Hickory Golf Club in Beaver Dam and enjoyed many rounds at Naga-Waukee Golf Club in Delafield. His passion for golf rewarded him with three holes-in-one, and he cherished annual golf trips with his closest friends. His family takes comfort in imagining him now on the heavenly greens with his dear golfing buddies, Bill and Bill.
Family vacations to Orange Beach, Alabama, brought Steve immense joy, especially when the entire family gathered together. He also treasured visits to the Flora-Bama for their famous Bushwacker. In recent years, he found peace at the family lake house on Pretty Lake, where he relished time with loved ones.
Steve had a zest for life's simple pleasures, like his yearly visits to the Wisconsin State Fair - always topped off with a creampuff, including one he happily enjoyed just last week. He also won a lot of games of cribbage and darts during family get togethers.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Myers; his children Robin (Joel) Lucas, Jennifer (Mathias) Meyer, and Anthony (Bethany) Myers; his grandchildren Olivia and Liam Lucas, Natalie and Allison Meyer, Jacob and Owen Myers; and his sister Vonda (Rick) Tomlinson. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Everett Myers, and his sister Vicky.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Aurora Hospice, especially Steve's nurse Tiffany, for the compassionate care he received.
Private services will be held for the family. In Steve's honor, memorials may be made to Special Spaces Wisconsin or Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Wisconsin.
Papa Steve - You will be in our hearts forever. Love and miss you! Papa you are Freeeeee!!
