Steve Newell Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 13, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Steve Lewis Newell, who left us on August 12,2025, at his home in Muscle Shoals, AL. He was born in Humboldt, TN, he was the son of the late Dennis and Gerena Barr Newell.
In 1982, Steve found his soulmate in Vicki Rae Rich, and together they forged a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. A devoted accountant, Steve dedicated many years of his life to his profession before a well-deserved retirement. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his community, as a proud member of Faith Church in Florence, AL.
Beyond his professional achievements, Steve's heart truly belonged to his family. He relished every moment spent with loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. Whether on the golf course or in the embrace of family gatherings, Steve's spirit shone brightest when surrounded by those he cherished the most.
As we remember Steve, let us celebrate his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with all around him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Rae Rich Newell of Muscle Shoals, AL; daughter, Chloe Stooksberry (Corey) of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Lola Stooksberry, and Millie Stooksberry; sister, Charlotte Doyle; and brother, Herman Newell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Gerena Barr Newell.
