Steven Leroy Woodbeck, the son of Clifford and Thersea (Wood) Woodbeck, was born on February 25th, 1951 in Estherville, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Emmetsburg, graduating with the "Class of 1969".

Steve was united in marriage to Wanda Schumann on July 1st, 1972 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. The couple lived in Emmetsburg until moving to Eagle Grove in 1979, where they raised their two children: Angie and Travis.

Steve worked for Buske Manufacturing in Pocahontas, Durnell in Emmetsburg, and many years at Umthun Trucking as a welder. He worked for A.D.S. until medically retiring in 2005.

Steve was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church where he was baptized. He was a member of the Eagle Grove Fire Department from 1982 to 2016 where he served as the Assistant Chief for many years, retiring after 34 years due to health issues. He took great pride in being a Fire Fighter and enjoyed every minute of it.

Steve spent his time on motorcycles and drag racing. He was very artistic and could build anything with metal from flag poles and benches to Race Cars. Steve also enjoyed teaching his fabrication craft to many others. Steve and his son Travis, rebuilt a Jeep Wrangler for the Eagle Grove Fire Department as a brush fire vehicle that was a great asset to the department for many years.

Everyone will tell you that the times Steve enjoyed the most were getting the opportunity to spend his life with his wife Wanda, his kids Angie and Travis, his daughter in law Chelsea, his grandkids Brennon, Kaylee, Peyton, Mckenna, Tucker and great grand daughter Sutton. He was a very proud Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa and he cherished all the time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, and sister, Kathy Larue.

Steve is survived by his wife, Wanda Woodbeck; daughter, Angie Cameron; son, Travis (Chelsea) Woodbeck; grandchildren: Brennon Cameron, Kaylee (Tyson) Cameron, Peyton Woodbeck, McKenna Woodbeck and Tucker Woodbeck; great-grandchild, Sutton Halsrud; sister, Sharon (Jerry) Stoulil; and brothers: Jim (Sylvia) Woodbeck and Randy (Megan) Woodbeck
