Steven M. Anderson, 67, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, following a 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer. His loving wife of 28 years, Rosemary, was by his side.
Steve was born on December 22, 1957, in Syracuse, NY. He was the first son of J. Steven Anderson and Betty L. Anderson. He graduated in 1976 from Niskayuna High School in Niskayuna, NY, where he played football and wrestled for the entire four years. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America. Following high school, Steve earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. After beginning his career with General Electric Appliances in the New England area, Steve completed his master's degree.
Steve had a 35 year career with General Electric Appliances working in Sales and Marketing. He retired in 2019.
He was predeceased by his father, J. Steven Anderson, his mother, Betty L. Anderson and a younger brother, Gregory P. Anderson. He is survived by an older sister, Patricia Anderson Lucas (Mark) of Park City, Utah, a younger brother, Jeffrey S. Anderson of Burlington, VT, a brother-in-law, John Albarran of Stratford, CT, a nephew Bryan Lucas of Minneapolis, MN, a niece, Corinne Downs Kenney (Wesley) and two great nieces, Mallory and Blair Kenney of Burlington, VT.
Steve enjoyed running and ran the Boston Marathon in 2012 as well as the Derby mini marathon multiple times, most recently in April 2024.
Steve was a member of Knights of Columbus and enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. He pursued many other activities including playing the saxophone, kayaking, Church Retreat, Bible study and bicycling.
In 2020, Steve achieved his dream of purchasing a cottage in Maine and spent many happy days there since.
Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, March 28th from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 29th at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Tunnel to Towers or Wounded Warriors.

Steve a good and generous man with a supportive beautiful wife. His smile and laughter is missed.
