Steven Berntson of Guelph, ND passed away January 27, 2025. He was born August 24, 1954 at Ellendale, ND to Royal and Betty Jean (Greenman) Berntson. He attended school in Guelph and graduated from Oakes High School with the class of 1972. After his schooling, Steve was employed with Super 8 Motels traveling around building motels.
On March 21, 1992, Steve married his best friend and soulmate, Marilyn Miller. They lived in Blooming Prairie, MN where they owned and operated an antique store, Blooming Enterprises. They later moved to the Guelph area to care for his mom, Jean. Together Steve and Marilyn enjoyed antiquing, raising Maltese puppies and attending their grandsons' sporting events.
He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Marilyn; step-children, Susan Martin, Clarks Grove, MN and Stephen Sullivan of Washington, IA; his siblings, Sylvia Matheson, Rochester, MN, Randy (Claire) Berntson, Fargo, ND and Kathy (Wayne) Knipple, Summer, WA; grandchildren, Justin, Nicholas, Joshua (Emma), Scott, Madison, Josh and Tim; and a great-grandson, Elijah.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Dan Matheson, and son-in-law Joel Martin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at the Guelph Community Church in Guelph. Steve's service will be live streamed below.

Marilyn, Sylvia, Randy, Kathy and all family members, We are thinking of you at this sad time as you mourn the loss of Steve. He had a great sense of humor and always had a funny little quip that gave us a chuckle.
