Steven Earl Bishop, 75 of White Hall passed away Tuesday afternoon August 26, 2025 in Springfield. He was born November 16, 1949 in Jacksonville the son of the late Franklin Earl Bishop and Beulah Rae Summers Bishop. Steven attended Winchester Schools and married Barbara Eschbach December 12, 1970 in Winchester and she survives at home. Also surviving are their children Michael (Shauna) Bishop of Springfield, Stacey (Randy) Varble of Patterson, John (Kelly) Bishop of Carrollton, eight grandchildren; Zachary, Kristen, Mackenzie, Hannah, Gabrielle, Dale, Maranda and Seirra, eight great grandchildren; Aiden, William, Franco, Kimara, Greyson, Kennedy, Cylus and Alex. Also surviving is his sister Connie (Roger) Lovelace of Exeter.
Steven worked for several years for Farm Service in Winchester and then was a Union Laborer with local 253 until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Jacksonville Pigeon Club and enjoyed bird watching, he was a collector of Briar Horses and Pewter figurines, he was a regular at estate auctions, antique stores, he was an avid reader and Louie L'Amour was his favorite author. He sang in the praise group at the Community Worship Church in Murrayville. Most of all he loved spending time with all of his family and was especially fond of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the North Greene Food Pantry. The Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall is in charge of the arrangements.
