Steven Monroe Brummett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life to go Home to the Lord on July 17, 2022, at the age of 69. Steven was born in Rockford, Illinois, on February 25, 1953, the son of John Brummett and Mary (Milliken) Brummett. As a young man, Steven heard his country's call and enlisted in the United States Air Force, making a nearly lifelong career as an Air Traffic Control officer. After retiring from the Air Force, he then joined the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aeronautical Information Specialist, retiring after several years of dedicated service.
Steven had a wide variety of hobbies. He enjoyed watching movies, reading sci-fi and fantasy novels, collecting comic books, watching westerns, fishing, and working out at the YMCA. He was a wonderful storyteller who spent much of his time volunteering for Street Ministries with St. Andrews Catholic Parish. Steven's warm, loving heart impacted the lives of many, and he will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Brummett, and one brother, Richard Brummett.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sang Brummett; two children, daughter Kristina Brummett, and son Christopher Brummett and wife Brooke; one grandchild, Sora Hyodo; a brother, Jerald Brummett; his mother, Mary Brummett, and stepfather Bill Sumner; a sister-in-law, Kathy Brummett; and many loving extended family members and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brummett family. Steve was my next door cube mate for a number of years. We shared stories and Sci-Fi books. A good friend who told it like it was. Peace Brother.

I worked with Steve for years - he was kind, thoughtful, well-spoken and well-read. I was lucky to get to know him. His Air Force service was noteworthy and he deployed many times to many combat zones. He will be truly missed. I'm saddened by his passing; but i know he's waiting for us in heaven. RIP, Well done, good and faithful servant of the Lord.
