Sending prayers to Steve's family during this difficult time. I have very fond memories of working with Steve at Mackinac Bank in Auburn; he actually was the one who interviewed me for the job. Steve was a pleasure to work with--always professional, always helpful, and always a gentleman. And every year at Christmas, he passed out bottles of his homemade "glug" which was always a hit with everyone at the office. To Steve's family, I am so very sorry for your loss.

Steve will always be remembered by all who knew him as a NICE GUY! He was always one of the friendliest and kind men anyone could meet. All of us who know him and his family have been extremely fortunate!! He will always be a beloved member of the Auburn Hockey Family and the Assumption College Hockey Family! It has been my good fortune to be able to call him a friend. RIP Steven

I played with Steve in the Auburn Senior men's league for many years and then when he migrated over to play with us on the Rusty Blades. We had more than one 'friendly' exchange of words and sticks over the years. You hated playing against him and loved him as a teammate. Recently one of the guys quipped that we didn't know that he had a real first name. It was always "That friggin Bylund!!" Or words to that effect. Of course it was with hockey affection.
He was a great addition to the Rusty Blades and will be missed.
RIP, Steve.
