Steve L. Dejarnett
Steve L. Dejarnett, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, in Hemet, California, at the age of 57, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Throughout his illness, Steve displayed remarkable strength, resilience, and grace, inspiring everyone who knew him. His spirit and determination never wavered, and he continued to bring light and warmth to those around him until the very end. Though his time with us was cut short, his legacy of kindness and courage will live on in our hearts forever.
Steve was born on September 30, 1967, in Blythe, California, and grew up with a love for sports, proudly playing on the football and baseball teams at Perris High School. In 1994, he married his beloved wife, Barbette (Black), beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 30 years filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Steve worked for the Hemet Unified School District for 20 years in maintenance and operations, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, music, horror movies, and following his favorite teams, the Angels and the Raiders.
He is survived by his wife Barbette, his mother Dorothy Hines, stepfather Larry Hines, sons Stevie Dejarnett and Nicholas (Kat) Dejarnett, his brother Glen Dejarnett, and four grandchildren. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dejarnett, and his son, Levi Dejarnett.
