Steven Bradley Koplitz died Saturday, July 22nd, 2023, at the age of 67, with his wife, Marla, and children by his side. He was born January 1st, 1956, to Donald and Bertha Koplitz in Seattle, WA. Steve attended school in South Bend, where he graduated from South Bend High School in 1974. Following high school graduation, Steve attended the University of Puget Sound on a basketball scholarship and graduated in 1978 from Eastern Washington University where he played baseball. He was proud of his induction into the South Bend Wall of Fame for his high school basketball accomplishments.
After college graduation, Steve was employed by Boeing where he spent the entirety of his 35-year career, before retiring in 2014. In 1983, Steve married Marla Green, and they made their home in Enumclaw, WA where they raised their three children. Steve spent many years coaching youth sports that his children were involved in.
Steve was a hunting enthusiast, passionate about sports - especially Husky football - loved to dance, and made the most of every moment, always with a smile on his face.
Steve loved coaching and supporting his children in their academic and athletic endeavors. He spent the last four years being a fun and devoted Pop to his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marla, his three children: Drew (Erika) Koplitz of Buckley, WA, Quin (Morgan) Koplitz of Enumclaw, WA, and Mara (J.T.) Rogan of Enumclaw, WA. Pop (Steve) is also survived by his three, soon-to-be four, grandchildren, his mother, Bertha, brother, Brent (Lynn) Koplitz, and sister, Monica Howard.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Donald Koplitz.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Enumclaw, WA on Friday, August 4th at 1 pm. A reception will immediately follow at the Enumclaw Expo Center Field House (Pete's Pool).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Steve's name to your chosen youth sport organization or the South Bend School Foundation (P.O. Box 437, South Bend, WA 98586).

Dear Marla,
I am so saddened to hear of Steve's passing just today! Steve and I were roommates at Eastern and shared our love for sports and having a great time! Steve and I both worked at Boeing, but only saw each other a couple of times after college! I loved his mischievous smile and devilish laugh even though he was the sweetest of guys. I will truly miss him. Just last week I talked to my wife about him as we drove through South Bend. He will indeed be missed. May God bless you and your family.

Collage roommates, basketball buddies, and shared classes. Racketball and more. My condolences to the family and everyone. Very sad to hear of his passing.

My late husband Uncle Dick and I loved sharing his life in Kent, WA and his joining with Marla. I will miss our chats and deeply regret his loss for family and friends. With love and empathy, Aunt Marlene Koplitz
