Joan Koplitz Obituary
Joan Jean Koplitz, aged 88, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 19th, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Born on October 18th, 1935, Joan entered the world in Omro, at the home of her aunt, Bertha Knapwurst. Her early years were spent in Waukau, WI area, where she was baptized and confirmed at the Waukau Methodist Church. Joan was the beloved daughter of W. Elmer and Jennie (Bunker) Knapwurst.
On September 29th, 1956, Joan exchanged vows with Ken Koplitz at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, WI. Together they built a life with cherished memories.
Joan's journey was marked by dedication and hard work. Before her marriage, she shared her musical talents alongside her friend Loretta Bohn, playing the organ and piano for services at Waukau Methodist Church. Following her graduation from Omro High School in 1953, she explored a career as a dietitian. Although she pursued other paths, she remained committed to providing her family with nourishing meals throughout her life.
Joan's professional endeavors included roles at the Wisconsin Telephone Company, the Oshkosh School System, Miles Kimball, Evergreen Retirement Community and as a personal home health caregiver. She approached each role with dedication and compassion, touching the lives of many along the way.
Outside of her professional life, Joan found joy in home pleasures. She was an avid reader, puzzle enthusiast, and skilled cook. Her commitment to her faith was evident as a current and charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.
Joan's legacy lives on through her three sons: Rick (Jane) Koplitz of Omro, Jim (Patty) Koplitz of Oshkosh, and Kevin (Jody) Koplitz of Pickett. She loved her grandchildren: Erin (Marcus) Wyatt, Steven (Cindy) Koplitz, Kyle (Jodi) Koplitz, Joe Koplitz, Andrea (Carlos) Liera, Danny (Savannah) Koplitz, Kamron (Amber) Koplitz, Connor (Heather) Koplitz and Quint Koplitz.
