Steven H. Ottman, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away December 9, 2024 at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center surrounded by his family after a 3 year battle with cancer. He was 68 years old.

Steven was born July 11, 1956, the son of Harold and Audrey (Lloyd) Ottman. After his mother’s passing, he grew up in Sheboygan Falls with his parents, Harold and Elvera (Abel). He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1974, and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. From 1986-2018, he worked as a mechanic for Kohler Company, where he was a proud member of the Quarter Century Club.

On September 17, 1977, he was united in marriage with Donna Behr at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler.

Steve was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, where he served as an usher. For 20 years, Steve proudly coached for the UFL in Sheboygan Falls. An avid sports fan, Steve began writing the Plymouth Review’s sports columns for Howards Grove and Elkhart Lake in the early 2000’s. Later, Sheboygan Falls was added to his lineup. He met many wonderful people during his time writing and photographing local high school sports. Above all, he loved his family and looked forward to family reunions and birthday gatherings.

Steve is survived by his wife Donna, sons Dylan (Katie) Ottman and Derek (Sarah) Ottman; grandchildren Sedona (Braden), Liberty, Trace, Griffin, Zander and Miles Ottman; mother Elvera Ottman; siblings Jim (Nancy) Ottman, Darryl (Brenda) Ottman and Lynette Lammers; sisters-in-law: Sharon (Joe) Schneider, Bonnie (Dennis) Theune, Kathy Behr and Christine (Bob) Lemkuil; brother-in-law Dale Brienen; many loving and caring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Audrey, parents-in-law Robert and June Behr, and sister-in-law Lori Brienen.

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 Cty Hwy PPP in Sheboygan Falls. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 2:00-5:00PM.

Friends of Steve are welcome to gather for a celebration of his life at Uncle Gunters, 416 Broadway in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 11:00AM-3:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be collected to be donated to his favorite charity.

From Steve: “To all my special friends in the class of 1974 – I will always treasure all the memories we created. I want to thank John Meunier, Jeff Billmann, Katie Mohr, Stacey Stevens and Karen Hernandez for your loving and special friendship. To my brothers Jim and Darryl and sister Lynette – my special love, I love you all so much. Mom – I love you, and thank you for making me the good, kind Christian man I am.”
