With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Steven Kenneth Parsons, who departed from this earthly realm on February 4, 2025, at his home. Born on January 9, 1968, in San Diego, Steve was a vibrant soul who traversed life with an extraordinary zeal that will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
Steve was a graduate of Grossmont High School, Class of 1986. After high school, he backpacked and surfed his way through Europe, gathering stories and memories that shaped his adventurous spirit. With an unwavering desire to carve his own path, he eventually became a licensed plumbing contractor and launched a thriving plumbing company that he successfully maintained for over fifteen years—a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication.
Steve's passions extended beyond the practical realm of plumbing. He was a man of eclectic interests—an avid reader who harbored a love for history, often losing himself in the depths of documentaries that informed and inspired him. Music was the melody that coursed through his veins; he was a talented guitar player and a determined singer who treasured the joy of live concerts, bringing happiness through both sound and rhythm.
With his charismatic demeanor and infectious humor, Steve was the life of the party, effortlessly captivating all those around him. He adored animals and had a particular fondness for dogs, showcasing his gentle heart and nurturing soul. His nature was one of loyalty, forever standing by friends and family alike, and he took immense pride in his role as a loving father.
Though life was rich with accomplishments, it was his plumbing business and the profound love he held for his family, especially his son Asher, that were his proudest achievements. He shared his life for over twenty years with Annie Parsons, and found immeasurable joy in the presence of their child. The warmth of family was a torchlight guiding him through moments of darkness.
Steve's life, however, was marred by the silent struggle of mental illness. A tragic circumstance surrounded his departure from us, and though leaves us grappling with sorrow, the echoes of his laughter and love remain. He is survived by his spouse Annie, his beloved son Asher, stepfather Jim Landry, brothers Michael and Cody Landry, and many cherished friends and extended family. He now joins his mother, Jean Landry, and his sister, Shelley Parsons, in eternal rest.
As we gather to remember Steve, let us celebrate the vivid life he led—the adventures, the music, the laughter, and the love. While the loss is profound, the spirit of Steven Kenneth Parsons will continue to soar through the cherished memories of those he touched. Let his legacy be a reminder of the importance of kindness, the depth of friendship, and the enduring bonds of family.
