With heavy hearts and profound love we announce the passing of Steven Reed, 58, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, on May 15, 2025. Born in Fall River on September 19, 1966, Steven lived a life filled with passion, music, and deep love for his family and friends. He was known for his vibrant spirit and his love of live music. A true Deadhead at heart he found connection in the music and his heart found its rhythm at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, where he made unforgettable memories. Steven felt most alive at a concert, surrounded by his family, where he loved to tell everyone, we were all there because of him. Above all, Steven cherished his family; he was a devoted husband, father and Papa, and his legacy will live on in the love he shared and the joy he brought to others.
He is survived by the love of his life, Erin Reed (Gudaitis), his cherished son, Timothy Reed, wife, Meagan (Conroy) and their sons, Connor, Garret and Warren, his beloved son Matthew, and his "brown-eyed girl", Caitlin, all from Chicopee. Steven also leaves behind his sister, Sandra Wilkos (Reed) and her husband, Teddy of S. WIndsor, CT., his brother, Scott Reed of Coventry, RI., his long-time sister-in-law, Lisa Carlson of Warwick, RI., and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Reed (Beauregard) and his sister, Tammy Sisson (Reed).
Steven's life was a beautiful composition, and though the final note has been played, its echo will continue in all who knew him. A celebration of Steven's life will be held at the American Legion on Saturday May 31st, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at 290 East St. Springfield, MA, where friends and loved ones are invited to honor his memory and share stories of the music, laughter, and love he brought into the world.
