Steven Schmidt, age 59, of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed away Saturday, October 07, 2023. Steven was born on June 12, 1964, in Appleton, to Lynette (Jewell) Schmidt and Robert Schmidt. Steven was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton. After graduation, Steven was employed by Buss Electric in Greenville. He was a member of the Greenville Fire Department, the Greenville Lion's Club, and Ducks Unlimited. Steven loved the Rodeo. He played Santa Clause for several years. He enjoyed hunting on the family property, traveling in his motor home and singing karaoke with friends. If there was anyone in need or help, Steven was always there.
Steven is survived by his fiancée of 12 years, Sue Plamann and her family; his mother, Lynette (Dave) Buss, his father, Robert (Esther) Schmidt, and Pam; uncles, Bob (Kathy) Jewell and their family, Wayne (Michelle) Jewell and their family, Wally (Mickey) Schmidt and their family; aunts, Jan Mossholder and her family, Kay (Greg) Forton and their family, Kathy (Bonnie) Mallmann and their family; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his siblings, Greg (Angie) Buss and family, Vickki Buss and family, Vicky (Todd) Verhagen and family, Kevin (LuAnn) Rosenau and their family, Robert (Billie Jo) Rosenau and their family; special friends, Jeff (Steph) Londre, Brian (Tonya) Maas, Gerald (Bonnie) Blink, Tony (Patti) Maass, and Fife Reilien, and Gary Kelly.
Steven was preceded in death by his Uncles Thomas Jewell, Dave Mossholder, and his maternal and fraternal grandparents.
The family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the special care and compassion they gave to Steven.
The funeral service for Steven will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville, with Rev. Phil Koelpin officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials can be given to FVL High School and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenville.
