Steven Seaton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 17, 2024.

Steven Wayne Seaton (71) passed away on Thursday, November 14th around 4:30 PM. His visitation and funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 20th, from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM with the funeral beginning at 11:30. Services will be held at West Finley Baptist Church, 258 Olga Rd, Fordland, MO. The burial will be in the cemetery adjacent to the church grounds. Steve was born in Branson to Homer and Pauline (Davis)Seaton May 24th, 1953. At just under two he accompanied his mother to France to be with his father while he served in the Korean Conflict in late 1955. As a toddler, Steve was quickly learning French from playing with the local children. Our parents returned home and for a short time they lived in Ozark before buying their farm in 1957. Steve attended and graduated from Sparta High School in 1971 with honors. He went on to attend MSU where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Steve was a member at West Finley and served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and song leader, until his health wouldn't allow. Steve especially enjoyed bringing food baskets and gifts on behalf of the church to families with children. He purchased fishing poles for every child that had perfect attendance during Bible School and sponsored the annual breaking in of those new fishing poles at Steve and Faye's well stocked pond. Nothing made him happier than seeing a child come to the Lord and children catching fish was the highlight of Bible School ending! Steve worked for many years as an insurance adjuster, then rose to a Litigation Specialist, before slowing down to a support team position for an insurance company as budget cuts and failing health forced him to switch gears and work the phones. He loved to fish, hunt, travel, cook, sing (especially Karaoke) and enjoyed a good meal. He often bragged on bagging a deer and calling his daughter-in-law, Marci who "threw it in the back of the truck for him like it was nothing" and helped him clean it. Steve cherished his years with Faye. He often said that waking up to her was like Christmas every morning. He enjoyed their trips, the quiet of their home in the country, and their work at the church was extremely important to him.

Steve is survived by his wife of 14 years, Faye (Wiggins) Seaton, Christopher Seaton, Jeffrey Seaton, three grandchildren: Savannah, Scott, and Atlas Seaton, his mother Pauline (Davis) Seaton, his sister, Judy Seaton Dollarhite, brother-in-law John Dollarhite, nephew Jordon Dollarhite and his fiancé Danielle Magee, his nephew Jason Dollarhite and his wife Courtney and their son, Carter, his step-son Brian Ballard, step-daughter-in-law Marci, their children and grandchild Brooklyn, his church family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Homer Seaton, and his in-laws, Kenneth and Lenora Wiggins.
