On July 17, 2023, Steven Van Gregory Skyrm quietly passed from this world. He started his sixty-four years on February 25, 1959 in Washington DC, born to the late Marion Ethel and Philip James Skyrm. Steve spent his formative years in Forestville, MD in the nurturing home his mother and stepfather, Robert Walker, created for him and his siblings. After graduating from Suitland High School, he continued his education through Northern Virginia Community College studying Tactical Response for Industrial Facilities. Steve found his passion and success in having his own business doing Home Improvements, specializing in Waterproofing. He honed his craft for 40+ years until his retirement. Retirement didn’t slow Steve’s pace at all! It gave him more time to go jet skiing, travel, scuba dive, ride his motorcycle, read, collect guns, or just take in one of the many Western movies he loved. One of the many ways he expressed love was helping people who were down on their luck. He didn’t take for granted this life and was often a kind and compassionate shoulder for anyone who needed it. He was occasionally spotted on his beloved walks with his dog, Ouchi, with whom he confided his troubles and dreams. Steve had a big heart, personality, and sense of humor that left people laughing when they were around him. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, his sister, Robyn Messineo, his love, Teresa Pace, and his cherished horse, Bully. He’s survived by daughters, Christina Skyrm, Brandi Garcia, Stephanie Skyrm, and Nadiya Farnese; grandchild, Nicolas Garcia; and brother, James Skyrm.
