Steven Alexander Smith, 71, of Byhalia, MS passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home.
Steve was born on December 19, 1953 in Memphis, TN to Beverly Jane Norman and Eugene Frank Smith. He was married to his wife, Rebecca, for 47 years. Steve worked in the landscaping industry and loved to fish. He also had a passion for building model airplanes. Steve's greatest joy was his family and the time spent with them.
Left to cherish Steve's memory is his wife, Rebecca Ann Smith of Byhalia; daughters, Jessica Bresnahan (Ryan) of Boise, ID and Allison Jacobs (Blair) of Collierville, TN; son, Brenton Smith (Joshua Bell) of Memphis, TN; granddaughters, Cora Bresnahan, Ellie Bresnahan, and Abby Jacobs; grandsons, Ethan Jacobs and Roman Jacobs; sister, Cindy Mason of Clarksville, TN; and brothers, Jim Smith (Kathy) of Rossville, TN and Frank Smith (Debbie) of Tampa, FL.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly Jane Norman and Eugene Frank Smith; brother, Ronnie Smith; and half-brother, Bobby Smith.
In lieu of traditional flowers, the family requests that you please plant some type of native flower, shrub, tree, etc.
