Steven Toth Obituary

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 to 1975.
He was a New Jersey State Trooper from 1982 to 2009 and retired with the rank of Sergeant. He was a civilian employee in the ballistics unit from 2011 to 2020.
Steve was a member of Corporal Philip A. Reynolds Detachment, Marine Corps League and Molly Pitcher Post No. 434, Englishtown. His wife, Joanne Corso Toth, died in 2010.
Surviving are a son, Stephen F. Toth; three daughters, Veronica M. Spicer and husband Symon, Stephanie E. Toth, and Christine M. Toth and husband Daniel Smith; sister, Christina Toth and husband Michael Aneskewich; and two grandchildren, Sawyer and Delaney Jo.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Cure PSP (www.psp.org) would be appreciated.

I met Steve at the NJSP Kingwood barracks. He was an old school Trooper and we became friends quickly. It turned out he knew my family from living in the Englishtown area. You knew if Steve looked around first and then leaned in, he was about to say something really funny and not for the weak! What a great man. Rest easy, brother. Semper Fi.

We met professionally in 1983 and became fast friends over all these years. He helped me personally and professionally during this time and I will miss him... The stories, too numerous to mention... The good times always to be remembered.
