Steven Oliver Trager, 64 of Chesnee passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. Steven was born August 24,1959 in Alhambra, California to the late John and Bernice Trager. Steven's journey was marked by creativity, passion, and a deep connection to nature and music.
Steven was a visionary entrepreneur who dedicated over two decades to building his own company, Bison Enterprises. Throughout his life, Steven found joy in various hobbies such as hiking, photography, birdwatching (particularly Blue Birds), playing African Djembe Drums, and reveling in the beauty of music across all genres, and he loved to make people laugh. One of Steven's proudest accomplishments was his loving marriage to his wife Teresa for 26 years. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will endure beyond his passing. Steve loved being a school bus driver the past 5 years, school bus #31in District 2. It was a ministry for him to love and encourage “his kids” every day, and share his love for Jesus. It was the reason he woke up every morning very early and never wanted to miss a day. He felt bad that he missed the last day of school this year, and the kindergarten graduation,"his kids", were his reason to keep going he loved them so much.
Steven will be fondly remembered by his surviving family members; Wife, Teresa Trager, Daughters; Angela Williams (Eric) and Amanda Budill (Joseph), Grandchildren; Colin Budill and Mia Budill; a sister; Elizabeth Harris (Wayne), Nephews; Peter DeVries and Michael DeVries. A host of friends near to his heart; Fred Hampton, David Frizzell, Jim Claire, Jim DePatie, Rodney McGill, Peter Makowsky, Adam Lough, Jeff Martin and John Wharton. Steven was predeceased by his father; John Trager, mother; Bernice Trager, Stepmother; Pam Trager, and grandson Liam Budill.
A visitation in honor of Steven will take place on June 22nd at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church 3600 Boiling Springs Road Boiling Springs, SC 29316 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
