Steven Ray Zahn, 71, passed away on July 30, 2025, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born on May 16, 1954, in Hutchinson, KS to Edward Otto and Charlene (DeVaney) Zahn

Steven graduated from Buhler High School. He worked for Sonoco Hutchinson Paper Mill and retired after 47 years. On August 30, 1975, Steven married Kathy J. Smith in Hutchinson, KS. They spent 48 years together before her passing in 2023. Steven enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and was an Eagle Scout.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathy Zahn; brother, Kerry D. Zahn; and grandparents, Otto C. and Cleo Zahn.

Steven is survived by his daughter, Tami Zahn; siblings, Edward (Bonnie) Zahn, Barbara Crouse, David (Rose) Zahn and Lynda (Steve) Haaland; grandsons, Dylan (Kimmy) Zahn and Dalton (Tara) Abernathy and granddaughter, Danae Abernathy.

Per Steven's wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Scouting America Foundation and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.
