Stewart Plummer "Bud" Conrad, age 76, of Moyock, NC, died at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born in Orlando, FL, on October 4, 1948, to the late Stewart Plummer Conrad Sr. and Helen Bass Conrad. Bud was the husband of Linda Lane Conrad and they were together for 45 years.
Bud passed away leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. He devoted 32 years of his life as a Fire Marshall Inspector with the Virginia Fire Marshall's office, where his commitment to safety and his community was evident in all he did.
Beyond his professional life, Bud had a passion for travel, always eager to explore new places and cultures. He also found great joy in spending time on the water, where his love for boating allowed him moments of peace and adventure.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Page Conrad Brooks (Robbie); sister, Holly C. Hartley (David); grandson, John Conrad Goodbred; Cynthia Key, who was like an adopted daughter, and her mother, Mildred Lamb; and good friend, Sandra Humphreys.
A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel. The family will greet family and friends immediately following the service in the chapel lobby. Bud's service will be live streamed on his obituary page at www.TwifordFH.com.
In remembering Bud, we honor a man who dedicated his career to public safety and who cherished the moments of exploration and tranquility that life offered. His memory will be held dear by those who knew him.
