Yolanda Storme Echols, age 65, of Rock Spring passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

She was a member of LaFayette First United Methodist Church.

Storme decided to pursue a degree in education, first attending Dalton for two years, then UTC for another two years, and spent her final years at Berry College, where she earned her Master's degree. She started her teaching career in Bartow County before eventually teaching at Westside Elementary School in Rocky Face, where she retired as a Georgia educator in 2014. After her retirement in Georgia, she began teaching in Tennessee at Spring Creek Elementary. In her spare time, Storme enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Engle; mother and stepfather, Rose and Durell Carver; and father-in-law, Harold Echols.

Storme is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Randy Echols; daughter, Lacee Kendall; grandson, Ozzy Kendall; brothers, Ricky (Linda) Engle, Shaun (Elaine) Engle, and Shannon Carver; stepsister, Dee Dee Plemons; mother-in-law, Hilda Echols; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Rev. Randall Massengill officiating.

Interment will take place at Naomi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Suttle Hunt, Rick Dean, Josh Hunt, and David Rush.

A visitation will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 25, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
