STUART FOREMAN MOYER
EMIGSVILLE - Stuart Foreman Moyer, 97, of Emigsville, passed away November 14 at Artis Senior Living of Lemoyne, PA. He was the widower of Annamae Brosky Moyer, who passed away on September 23, 2022, after 61 wonderful and loving years of marriage. Stuart was born on July 28, 1927 in Birdsboro, PA and was the son of the late Harry Lester Moyer and Margaret May Foreman Moyer Koneski.
After graduating from Reading Senior High School in 1945, Stuart served proudly in the United States Navy as a flight engineer on patrol bombers in the Pacific, including Hawaii, China and the Philippines, from 1945-1949 (active) and 1950-1952 (reserve).
He then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in Mathematics, Science and Social Studies from Millersville University in 1955. Stuart completed graduate work at Western Maryland College, Pennsylvania State University and Shippensburg University and received a Masters' Equivalency from the State of PA in 1980.
Stuart and Annamae were married on November 23, 1960 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in York, PA by Dr. Chester S. Simonton, D.D.
He taught Mathematics for 35 years at William Penn Senior High School in the York City School District, retiring in June, 1990, and also taught Mathematics as an adjunct lecturer at Pennsylvania State University – York Campus for 5 years and at York College of Pennsylvania for 17 years.
Stuart was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Emigsville, the White Rose Lodge #706 F. & A.M. of York and the Valley of Harrisburg Consistory, and NEA, PSEA, YCEA, PASR and YCASR.
He was a devoted and much-loved husband, father, grandfather and teacher who loved his Lord Jesus. Stuart enjoyed doing crossword, word search, and sudoku puzzles, reading, listening to jazz music, playing flight simulator computer games, using his hands to maintain his personal vehicles and work on various projects around the house, and building Lego models with his grandson.
Stuart is survived by his daughter, Constance Ann Moyer Forbes of Mechanicsburg; his grandson, Alexander Forbes of Mechanicsburg; his brother, Ronald Moyer of Reading; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Mulholland (David) of Ottawa, IL, and his brother, Rodney Moyer (Kathleen) of Reading, PA.
Services and burial for Mr. Moyer will be private. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in York. Officiating at his service will be his beloved pastor, Reverend Richard L. Bowers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide Flag Folding and Taps at the graveside.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Mr. Moyer's family. I taught with Stuart for many years at York High. He was a fine man and excellent teacher. His students often told me how much they learned from, and respected, Mr. Moyer. May he rest in peace.

Condolences. I was in Mr. Moyer's math class the day of the TMI accident. Will always remember the time & place. He thought we should all leave immediately after hearing the news. May his soul be at peace.
