Sue Carolyn Williams

Sue Carolyn (Baer) Williams, 91, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at HCA Florida (Ocala Regional Hospital) in Ocala, Florida. She was born on January 9, 1934, in South Charleston, West Virginia to Harry E. Baer, Sr. and Verna (Rice) Baer. She was a graduate of South Charleston High School, class of 1951. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star, played the French horn in the South Charleston High School marching band and played in the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. She was instrumental in getting Little League girls' softball started in Kanawha County, West Virginia in the 1970's. She worked as a Secretary for Union Carbide before retiring. She enjoyed participating in her daughters' activities, loved getting together with the family, especially during holiday seasons, enjoyed playing bridge in various bridge clubs, and played golf in a women's league. She was a wonderful and loving daughter, wife and mother. She enjoyed shopping, was a people-person, was always ready to be on the go somewhere, and eating out. Her smile was beautiful and her laughter infectious.

Sue is survived by her husband of 72 years, whom she married in 1953 after dating 6 years, Charles B. Williams of Ocala, Florida, her daughters, Karen (Williams) (Keys) Teaster of Florida, Dr. Lisa Williams of Georgia, Grandchildren Brooke (Keys) Farrington of California, Dr. Bradley Keys of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and great-grandchildren, Ayla Farrington and Lily Farrington of California, and Tiberius Keys of the U.S. Virgin Islands. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry E. Baer, Sr., her mother, Verna (Rice) Baer, and her brother, Harry E. Baer, Jr.

Her family will receive family and friends for a celebration of life at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, Florida on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm, officiated by Bishop Phillip Lehman from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or your local animal shelter.
