Summer Dawn Litzinger
Summer Dawn Litzinger, 46, passed away on December 19, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Born on July 3, 1978, she was the daughter of the late Dottie Sue Brumley. Summer is survived by her best friend, soulmate, and loving husband of over 30 years, Roy Thomas Cheek Jr. (Tommy); her son, Noah Thomas Cheek; an honorary daughter, Barbara Bertram; three honorary sisters, Shawnetta Brumley, Sara Brumley, and Rebbecca Brumley; an honorary aunt, Jody Kiniry; and many other family members who loved her.
In addition to her late mother, Summer was preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Grace Cheek, who passed before her birth; her grandmother, Reva Brumley; one uncle; three aunts; and a few cousins. Summer loved life, gardening, fishing, taking care of her home, and spending time with her family.
Most of all, Summer cherished being a mother, which came later in life for her and Tommy. They had both prayed to bring a child into their lives, especially to bring joy to her late mother, Dottie, who fought and lost her battle with cancer.
Summer will always be remembered for her kind heart, strength and determination, faith in God, and love for everyone in her life.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life Memorial for Summer on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Bethel Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Bill Bales. Visitation will begin at 12 noon, followed by the memorial service at 2 PM. (1991 Phillips Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356)
Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
