Susan was born in Long Branch and had lived in Neptune for the past many years. She graduated from Ocean Township High School and received her Associates Degree from Brookdale Community College. Susan had a passion for helping people and enjoyed working for Comfort Keepers in Shrewsbury, where she could provide assistance to families in their home care. She was dedicated to the service of others passionately. She had five little kittens whom she adored; they were her solace and the source of immense joy in her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Chris Carrigan, her father Edward Smith, her mother Mary Fertig Smith, and her brother Mark Smith.
