Susan Payne Chamberlain, 51, of Salisbury, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 26, 1973, to Helen Willette and John Payne, and will always be remembered for her caring heart, generosity, and the love she gave to her family, friends, and everyone she met.
Susan was the beloved wife of Stephen Chamberlain and the devoted mother of Logan and Lucas Chamberlain, who were the light of her life. Her family meant everything to her, and she gave her heart fully to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Willette, who passed away on January 30, 2012, and her father, John Payne, who passed away on August 26, 2025. She is survived by her brother Stephen Payne (Stacey); her stepfather Ted Willette; her niece Diana Payne and nephew Allen Payne; her husband Stephen Chamberlain; her cherished sons Lucas and Logan Chamberlain; and by her uncle Samuel Elbert Evans Jr. and aunt Patricia Evans.
Susan graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1991, where she made many lifelong friendships and wonderful memories that she cherished throughout her life. She went on to earn her Nursing Degree from Wor-Wic Community College in 2011, fulfilling her dream of caring for others and making a difference in people's lives.
Susan was deeply involved in her church community, especially in the Ladies Ministry at Rockawalkin Church, where she shared her faith and kindness with others.
From a young age, Susan was full of life and laughter. She loved spending time with her friends, hanging out, having girls' nights, and riding around together making memories. She was especially proud of her black Thunderbird, which she loved driving in high school. That fun-loving spirit stayed with her throughout her life, and she continued to enjoy time with all her special friends, sharing laughter, love, and lasting memories.
Susan found her calling in helping others. She worked as a nurse at Deers Head and in dialysis care, where she touched countless lives through her compassion and dedication. Her patients and coworkers will always remember her as one of the most selfless, caring, and generous people they ever knew.
She loved her family, friends, and her animals deeply. She also loved spending time with her faithful dog Dixie, who brought her so much joy and comfort.
Her memory will live on through her children, her husband, her family, and the many lives she touched. Susan's love, laughter, and light will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
