Susan J. Hartwick, 67, of Moorhead, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo, ND.
Sue was born January 31, 1958, to Donald and Marilyn (Czichotzki) Forness in Moorhead, MN. She spent most of her childhood in Moorhead and later spent time in Groton, and Mitchell, SD. She began her working career in Aberdeen, SD before moving back and making Moorhead her home in 1988. On August 17, 1996, Sue married Jan Hartwick in Moorhead. In 2005, she began working with Keith Trader as a legal secretary where she spent the last 20 years.
Sue enjoyed going for walks, cross-stich, and going to her parent’s lake cabin in Perham, MN. She was an avid reader and enjoyed attending Fargo/Moorhead Community Theatre productions. She also spent many Sundays watching her beloved Minnesota Vikings, but the Twins were a close 2nd.
Sue is survived by her husband, Jan; sisters, DeNise Hearnen, and Lynnea Forness; brother, Craig Forness; niece, Kimberly (Justin) Bawek; great-niece, Shea, and great-nephew, Nolan; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sanford Hospice House.
A Celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Final resting place will be in Richland Lutheran Church Cemetery, Walcott, ND.
