Steven Lee Hartwick, age 61, of Ogden, Kansas, died June 25, 2025, at his home in Ogden.
Steve was born on August 28, 1963, in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of Marvin Lee "Corky" and Elsa (Schmid) Hartwick. Steve grew up in Ogden/Manhattan area and attended local schools, he graduated from Manhattan High School with the class of 1981.
For many years Steve was involved with music and a concert promoter. He was a booking agent for many bands through his company AudioStarz. He enjoyed being part of the performances, traveling to the venues with the band, doing the setup, mic checks, and taking care of the finances.
In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and watching birds, just like his mother did. He was a talented photographer and took many great photos of his birds and blooms from the garden. Steve was always ready to go fishing as often as he could, especially walleye fishing, and loved mushroom hunting because he was such a "fun-gi"! He was also an avid KC Chiefs and K-State football fan.
He was a devoted Catholic and attended church at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ogden and Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan. Steve was proud of his German heritage and celebrated it often with his family enjoying his mother's German meals and desserts. He was very dedicated to his family and friends. He was a caregiver to his parents for 14 years before their passings and was glad to be there for them.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved aunt from Germany.
He is survived by his brother Ricky Hartwick (Wendy) and his sister Diane Hollingshead (Jim); his niece Darcie Hartwick and her child Alayna; his nephew Christopher Hartwick (Lacy) and their children: Cammi, Adeline, and Gideon; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00p.m. Monday July 7, 2025, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. A Parish Vigil will be held at 7:00p.m. Monday following the visitation at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 8, 2025, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ogden, with Father Leo Blasi as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Ogden.
