Susan Ann Stroud Jackson, 63, of
Kernersville, NC, passed away on January 15, 2026, in
Kernersville, NC. She was born on April 19, 1962, in
Hampton, VA.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Stewart Jackson, whom she married in 2013 and who passed away in 2023; her parents, Harold Gray Stroud and Judith Cox Stroud; and her brother, David Gray Stroud.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Lauren Shook and husband Robert of
Bunnell, FL; Matthew Jackson of
Winston-Salem, NC; and Natalie Parker and husband Patrick of
Yadkinville, NC. She was a proud grandmother to Lauren Jones, Johnny Jones, Wesley Shook, Brett Lane, and Jessica Lane, and a cherished great-grandmother to Hunter and Brianna Shook. She is also survived by her sister, Laura Traylor and husband Jeff of
High Point, NC; her nephews, Eric and Andrew Traylor of
High Point, NC; and her beloved dogs, Gracie and Little Boy, who were a constant source of comfort and joy.
Born into a military family, Susan lived in many places during her early years before settling in North Carolina as a child. These experiences helped shape her into a strong, adaptable, and independent woman. She grew into a hard-working, determined, and ambitious professional who took great pride in her accomplishments in the financial services field. Susan was a member of the Professional Women in Business Association and was deeply respected for her work ethic and professionalism.
Outside of her career, Susan had a creative and vibrant spirit. She loved gardening, crafting, and decorating, and she was an exceptionally talented interior designer with an eye for beauty and detail. She also enjoyed traveling and was a seasoned world traveler, embracing new cultures and experiences wherever she went.
Susan will be remembered for her generosity, her fun-loving nature, and her outstanding sense of humor. She had a remarkable ability to bring warmth and laughter into any room. Above all, she was deeply compassionate and selfless, serving as an extraordinary caregiver to both her father and her husband during their illnesses, a role she fulfilled with grace, patience, and unwavering love.
