She was born on August 22,1949, to James Godfrey and Mary Hanson Donaldson in Texarkana, TX.
Susan was a longtime member of Fairfield First United Methodist Church.
She was a bookkeeper, and managed the gift shop for a local restaurant for 45 years.
Susan loved the beach. She spent as much time as possible relaxing with family and friends on Terramar Beach, Galveston, TX.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Holton James; son, David Thomas James; and parents James and Mary Donaldson.
Susan leaves behind her son, COL James Michael James and wife, Jennifer of Salado, TX; Grandchildren, Elizabeth James, Lillian James and Holton James, all of Salado, TX; sister, Lynn Wilson and husband Greg of Texarkana, TX; niece, Rebecca Junger, husband Matt and son, Reece of Smyrna, GA; nephew, Jake Wilson, wife Jenny and daughter, Henley of Smyrna, GA; special friend, Kathy Jones of Fairfield, TX; many beloved cousins and friends, as well as her beloved golden doodle, Katie.
Per Susan's request, there will be no service. Instead, to honor her, please gather with friends at your convenience to reminisce about Susan and the good times you enjoyed with her. If you wish to donate in her name, please consider First UMC, 201 N. Mount St., Fairfield, TX 75840, or your favorite charity.

I was her main caregiver we bonded first day we met as we been friends for years that's the bond I had for her and I was her bond buddies, Rest in Paradise Sweet Lady truly missed Lisa
