SUSAN CAROL (LOONEY) MCCLANAHAN, 52, of Grundy, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2025, following a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of Jessie Looney of Big Rock, VA, and Helen (Stiltner) Looney of Grundy, VA. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Grundy Bible Church and Harman Holiness Church. She was a Christian woman who loved God. Susan graduated from Grundy High School and later went on to study criminal justice at Liberty University. She loved the holidays, decorating and baking homemade candy, and sewing/crafting homemade meaningful gifts.
She had a passion for being a mother from a young age, and greatly enjoyed raising her kids through her loving and nurturing nature. She had many hobbies including sewing, crafting, cooking, gardening and reading.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Billy "B.J." McClanahan; parents, Jessie Looney and Helen Stiltner Looney; Daughter: Rhianna (Tim) Puckett; Son: Christopher Brian Stacy; Special Grandson: Hunter Stacy; Step-Daughters: Leah McClanahan and Sarah McClanahan; Step-Son: Micah McClanahan; Step-Granddaughter: Addeline Blake Coleman; Step-Grandson: Luke Matthew Coleman; Brothers: Corbett Looney and Charles Looney; Sisters: Phyllis (Tim) Charlton, Roberta (Greg) Ramey and Ruby (Robbie) Collier.
Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia Nell "Ginny" Looney, James Daniel Looney and Special Sister-in-Law: Melissa Looney.
Celebration of Life services for SUSAN CAROL (LOONEY) MCCLANAHAN will be conducted Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Bible Church with Rev. Don Ashby officiating.
