Susan E. McDermott of Waukesha passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the age of 79. She was born in Milwaukee on April 28, 1945, the daughter of Rudolph and Mildred Folker. She was a graduate of Waukesha High School. Susan met Richard “Big Rich” McDermott at Dave’s Restaurant in 1961, and they married on December 29, 1962. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2017 after 54 years of marriage. Susan worked for Microelectronic Modules as an inspector for more than 20 years. She loved going to the casino and enjoyed shopping and going to area craft fairs. Most of all she cherished her family. 

She will be sadly and forever missed by her children, Laura McDermott of Waukesha, Karri McDermott of Waukesha, Dan (Renee) McDermott of Florida and Joe McDermott of Waukesha, her grandchildren Michael, Matt, Marcus, Tyler, Hailey, Sayde, Ryan, Emma, Connor, Natalie, Skye, Joey, and Delaney. She is further survived by her sister Linda (Mike Desjardin), other relatives, and friends. 

In addition to her husband Richard, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer McDermott, granddaughter Megan McDermott, brother Michael Folker; and parents, Rudolph and Geraldine Folker and Mildred Flanagan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 4:00 pm until the 7:00 pm time of sharing in celebration of Susan’s life at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. If desired, memorials are appreciated to the family.
