Susan Rita Murray, of Danbury, CT passed unexpectedly on December 5, 2024, at 64 years of age. A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Stasia. Sue is survived by her father, Jack; her brothers, John (Patricia), Stephen (Lori), Douglas (Carolyn), and Andrew (Lynn). She also leaves behind her cousin Joseph (Michelle) and many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces whom she adored.
Raised in East Hampton, CT, Sue graduated from East Hampton High School and received her Nursing Degree at Western Connecticut State University. She was a Registered Nurse with 42 years of dedicated service at Danbury Hospital and DaVita, as an acute dialysis nurse.
Throughout her career, Sue's caring nature, compassion and great sense of humor shone brightly. She was known for her unwavering commitment to her patients, putting the needs of others above her own. Whether in the hospital or at home, Sue was a constant source of comfort and support to everyone around her.
She was a great supporter of arts programs, especially dance and theatre in her community. A loyal fan of the NY Mets, she celebrated their success and forgave their losses annually. She loved all handicrafts and created many beautiful handmade gifts for family, friends, and patients. A talented maker of delicious cakes and fun dessert treats, she was always there to celebrate the milestones of those she loved. Her generosity toward her many nieces and nephews was extraordinary. She attended every graduation, birthday, and special occasion, pouring her heart into each moment. Fond of telling funny jokes, she always made the people around her smile. Her thoughtfulness and kindness were felt by all who knew her.
Sue leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with her.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in East Hampton, Connecticut.

Sue was taken from us too early, yet God is the one who is in control. Sue has great faith. Sue took care of everyone but herself. She would go the extra mile for her patients, family and friends. She kept the Dialysis unit in tip top shape, DaVita got a valuable resource when they hired Susan. Susan was well respected by the Doc's because they knew she was right and had the best interst of the patient. She was one of the founding mother's of Danbury Hospital Nurses Association Unit 47. That was our name when we first organized. She set up our accounting system which is still in effect today. She was her own person. She did not let her age or size stop her from taking tap lessons, she was very happy to perform in her recital. You go girl. She was a nurses nurse and knew what was the right thing to do for her patients and their families and stood her ground to get what she knew was best. The patients in the Dialysis community lost a great advocate, peace be with you Sue.

I am deeply deeply saddened by her passing that caught me by complete surprise, having just seen her and her father at the buffet in wethersfield. We talked at length about work troubles and we were looking forward to working together in Massachusetts. My condolences to her family.. You look will sorely missed by me and the Davita crew.
