Susan Norton

Susan E. Norton, 65, of Huntertown, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020, at her home. Born in Fort Wayne, on February 1, 1955, to the late Gene and Betty (Gladieux) Place. She spent her formative years in Huntertown, graduating from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1973. Sue was married to Steve D. Norton in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2016. She worked at API Alliance in Fort Wayne. Sue was a member of Pine Hills Church and was a volunteer at Lutheran Life Village on Coldwater Road. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, being outdoors and spending time with her friends. Sue is survived by a brother, Michael (Kim) Place; two nephews, Michael (Susan) Bolla and Matthew (Mary) Place; a niece, Katherine (Matt) Hensinger; four great-nieces and nephews, Scotty, Vinnie, Charlotte and Harper. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Terry Place; a sister, Patricia Rittenhouse. Services will take place at Pine Hills Church on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Family will also receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial taking place at Eel River Cemetery.
