Susan Lorraine (Jean) Rodrigue, age 65, of Salem, NH, formerly of
Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A woman of quiet grace, radiant warmth, and unwavering devotion, Susan's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and connection.
Born in Methuen in 1960 to the late Reynold and Lorraine A. (Beaudin) Jean, Susan grew up in a household filled with laughter, tradition, and the kind of familial bonds that shaped her into the nurturing soul she became. She graduated from Lawrence Vocational High School.
Susan spent her professional years as an office worker in the insurance industry, where she was known for her diligence, kindness, and ability to bring calm to even the busiest days. Her colleagues admired her not only for her work ethic but for the warmth she brought into every room.
Susan's true calling was found in her roles as wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was the devoted wife of Bruno Rodrigue, with whom she shared a life rich in love, laughter, and mutual respect. Their partnership was built on quiet strength and the kind of everyday moments that become cherished memories.
Susan was the loving mother of: Christopher Belanger and his wife Heather of Auburn, NH, Nicholas Belanger and his girlfriend Selyna Lavoie-Locapo of Fitchburg, MA, and Sonia Harrison and her partner Justin Renaldi of Salem, NH. Her children were her pride and joy. She celebrated their triumphs, comforted them in times of need, and offered unwavering support through every chapter of their lives. Her love was unconditional, her guidance gentle, and her presence a constant source of comfort. Susan was also a cherished sister to: "Joey" Frank Furnari and his wife Angel, Sandra Crane and her husband Daniel, Donna Wallack and her husband Jim, Anita Courcy and her husband Guy, Carol McCarthy and her husband Bob, William Jean, and Ronald Jean.
She was predeceased by her beloved sister Linda Jean, whose memory she carried close to her heart.
As a grandmother, Susan was nothing short of wonderful. She adored her grandchildren: Ryleigh, Lilly, Aubrey, Lucas, Jaidy, Madison, Kylie, Jaxon, Paisley, and Mateo. Her home was a haven of hugs, homemade meals, and stories shared over warm cups of tea. She delighted in their laughter, celebrated their milestones, and created traditions that will live on in their hearts.
Susan's passions were simple yet profound. She found joy in cooking and savoring delicious foods, especially her meat pies that she shared with those she loved. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection, where recipes were passed down and memories were made.
She had a love for adventure, embracing new experiences with curiosity and joy. Whether exploring new places or revisiting familiar ones, Susan treasured the journey and the company she kept. Above all, she cherished spending time with family and friends, creating a life rich in relationships and shared moments.
Susan's legacy is one of love, kindness, and quiet strength. She touched countless lives with her gentle spirit, her unwavering support, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her memory will continue to guide and inspire those who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated the following morning, Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Monica's Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
