Susanne C. Nelson

Susanne (Carol) Nelson, 89, of Middletown, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on October 28, 2025 in her home. She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ and lived her life in Middletown after her marriage in 1953.
Carol married the love of her life, Raymond P. Nelson, in 1953 after he returned from military service. The two raised a family of 7 children. Carol devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her husband and children. She hosted many parties at her home and was a wonderful cook. So many happy memories were made with family and friends over the years. She was always a shoulder to lean on for her friends and family.
Surviving are Carol's four sons, Thomas Nelson, Raymond Nelson, David Nelson, and Richard Nelson; three daughters, Catherine Vashey, Susan Puglisi, and Carolyn Nelson. She also had 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many other family members who will miss her deeply.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond P. Nelson in 2016 and her brother Joseph Dickey of Florida. She is survived by her brother, Richard Dickey of Middletown, NJ and sister Marianne Carloni from Wall, NJ.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown.
