Suzann Cole Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Peoria on Jan. 19, 2026.
Born with a spark on St. Patrick's Day in 1962, Suzann Cole lived 63 years with a spirit that remained steady until her passing on January 11, 2026. Born in Ogden, Utah, to Sylvia Annette Penrod and Richard Porter Simmons, she was their first and only child.
Suzann was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved Jesus, and he was a guiding light throughout her challenging health issues.
A 1980 graduate of Alhambra High School, Suzann understood the value of hard work and loyalty. From her early years at the Smith's cafe and Mervyn's to her time as a bank teller at Chase, she eventually found her professional home at Money Management International. There, she served as a dedicated credit advisor until her retirement in 2021. Suzann was a woman of consistent passions. She never missed an episode of General Hospital and was a fixture on the couch for professional football Sundays. She also spent many Saturdays tolerating college football just to share that time with her Dad. When she wasn't at the gym or enjoying her favorite Mexican food, she was home with her feline companions, Jackie and Big D, who were the heart of her household.
She is survived by her half-brother, Douglas Dee Castor (Rachelle); her nephews, Samuel (Annalise), Richard (Elisa), and Joseph; her Uncle Steve, her Aunt Nancy and cousins.
Suzann's "work family" at MMI was a cornerstone of her life. We appreciate these deep, abiding friendships that were like her family, and we are eternally grateful to those dear friends who gathered, showing their love to her as her illness came to an end. We also extend our sincere thanks to Hospice of the Valley for the comfort and safety they provided in her final days.
Suzann, we love you and will miss your presence.
