Suzanne M. Brascugli
Maple Grove, MN
December 27, 1943 – September 10, 2022

Suzanne M. Brascugli, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 10th, 2022 at Silver Creek Memory Care facility in Maple Grove. Suzanne was formally a St. Cloud, MN resident for over 30 years.
Suzanne was born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on December 27th, 1943. She graduated from Glenbrook South High School in 1962 and went on to earn a B.A. degree in Music Education from Knox College in 1966. After graduation she married Gary Moses and moved near Bloomington, Indiana where she taught music in the Elementary School system while he completed his MBA.
Suzanne was part of the 1st ever dispersed Peace Corps MBA program where graduates from Indiana, Harvard, Stanton, and Wharton, trained with their spouses at Stanford in language and social economics in preparation for the Peace Corps. Suzanne spent 2 years, in the Peace Corps, serving in Cali, Colombia, working with Nuns at a Sala Cuna or Day Care.
Suzanne started her piano teaching career in St. Cloud and continued that career as she moved with her family to Freemont, Michigan, Bloomington, MN and back to St. Cloud. With each move, Suzanne met many lifelong friends.
Suzanne treasured her students, colleagues, and the many opportunities afforded by Minnesota Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the local organizations she participated in. Her students were inspired by her creative approach to varied literature, and successfully competed in MMTA Contest, piano and theory exams, Ensemble Festive, and Piano Guild, which she chaired for many years.
Musicals delighted her, and she often broke into song, triggered by a key word or phrase innocently spoken. During her time at Knox College, she accompanied in many well-known musicals. While in Freemont MI, she was part of the local theater group and was in such productions as Oklahoma.
When Suzanne wasn't playing the piano or preparing lesson plans for her students, she enjoyed time going to the children's theater, or community movies such as the old Thin Man series. But, at the end of the day, she loved to come home to her many dogs and cats she cared for throughout the years.
Family was also very important to Suzanne, and she loved spending time with all of them, especially her grandchildren. She was also an avid traveler and would often send postcards to share stories about her adventures.
Suzanne is survived by her son, Andy (Judy) Moses of Maple Grove and her grandsons: Griffin, Conner, Preston, and Nathaniel, her sister Sandy Weis, brother Jim Wehrheim, former husband, Gary Moses, stepdaughters, Lisa Brascugli (Dan) Murphy, Beth Brascugli (Steve) Delima and stepson Nicholas (Vanessa) Brascugli and their children.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband, William Brascugli, stepdaughter Lynn Brascugli (Damberg), grandson Glen Brascugli McCormick, parents James and Lucetta Wehrheim.
Suzanne will be interned at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls alongside her husband William Brascugli.
A Celebration of Life Gatrhering will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, 1111-25th Ave. S. St. Cloud MN. At 3:00 PM we will celebrate Suzanne's life with the sharing of readings and memories of her.

You have my deepest condolences. Suzanne was a dear piano friend from the years when I lived in St Cloud. We shared many wonderful times with music and tea, and I was lucky enough to go to Europe with her in 2003 for two piano workshops, in Slovenia and Biarritz, France. I'm sorry I cannot be there on October 1, due to playing a concert in Wisconsin on October 2 -- I will dedicate that concert to her.
