Suzanne Ruth Carrien, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away at the age of 72 on December 7, 2023, in Barre, VT. Born on August 15, 1951, in Machias, ME, Suzanne touched the lives of many through her gentle spirit, artistic talents, and unwavering love for her family.
Suzanne showed a keen interest in herbalism and possessed a deep understanding of the healing powers of nature. She shared her knowledge and passion with those around her, nurturing those in need and offering comfort with her herbal remedies. Her compassion and dedication to helping others will forever be remembered.
Suzanne's artistic abilities were nothing short of remarkable. Whether it was through her intricate drawings or vibrant paintings, she captivated the hearts and minds of all who viewed her creations. Her talent brought beauty and joy into the lives of many, leaving an enduring legacy of creativity and inspiration.
As a devoted homemaker, Suzanne dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving environment for her family. She poured her heart into every blanket she made for her grandchildren and children, ensuring they were wrapped in her love and care. Suzanne also extended her nurturing spirit beyond her immediate family, often being regarded as a mother figure to her children's friends. Her kindness and nurturing nature knew no bounds.
Having graduated from Lawrence High School in Massachusetts, Suzanne embraced lifelong learning and held a deep appreciation for knowledge. Over the years, she worked at various establishments, including Rich's, Cumberland Farms, and Union Elementary School, leaving a positive impact on those she encountered.
Suzanne is survived by her loving spouse of 49 years, James Carrien. She is also survived by her sons, James Carrien and his wife Tonya, Aaron Carrien and his wife Alina, Joshua Carrien and his wife Meredith, and Steven Carrien and his wife Karlyn; her cherished grandchildren, Dylan May, Ashley May, Oliver Carrien, Matthew Carrien, Caleb Carrien, Donovan Carrien, Sienna Carrien, Brooklyn Carrien, Reese Carrien, Nolan Carrien, and Logan Carrien; her sister Deborah Grosse and her husband, Pete.
She was predeceased by her mother, Betty Tucker; her daughters, Andrea Carrien and Kelly May, and sister, Kathy Reed.

Suzanne's warmth, creativity, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. While she may no longer be physically present, her memory will continue to bring comfort, love, and inspiration to all who were fortunate to have crossed paths with her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Suzanne was my husband's cousin. She was a sweet, wonderful and funny lady. She had a smile that lit up her face. I know she touched so many people and she will be missed! Thinking of her family at this sad time.
