Suzanne K. Frost
May 21, 1946 - January 26, 2025
Sue was a caring and generous wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend. She especially loved babies, her Brookfield Lutheran Church family, and finding a good deal. Her Christian faith was very important to her and she held various leadership and volunteer positions in her church throughout her life. In the 60's, Sue was a political activist and fought for racial justice. Though rheumatoid arthritis made things more challenging for her, she fought back through every challenge remaining as active as possible throughout her life. She had a way with words and inspired us all with her writing, whether it be in greeting cards, on the Scrabble board, or in her gratitude posts. She was passionate about her family, giving her girls every possible opportunity, serving as family historian, and honoring her German heritage. Sue was so proud of her siblings and grandchildren and loved them immensely.
A graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran High School, Sue got her Bachelor's degree at Valparaiso University. She went on to study at UW-Madison for her first Master's in German, where she met her beloved husband Tom and made lifelong friends with their "Kirch" pals. A firm believer in education, she completed a second Master's Degree in Reading at Marquette University and later a Master's in Admistration and Director of Curriculum and Instruction from the UW-Milwaukee. Over the years she taught at West Division, North Division, 68th Street School (the German- and French- Immersion Program), Clark Street School, 88th Street School, and Milwaukee Lutheran High School.
She is survived by her faithful husband of over 53 years Thomas Frost, daughters Rebekah (Jason) Kunz, Andrea (Jacob) Marsch. Elizabeth (Mark) Seeger, and Kirsten (Christopher) Kessler, adoring grandchildren Cassie (William) Martin, Christa, Jakob, and Ashland Kunz, Marika, Kaden, and Reese Marsch, Axel Seeger, Evelyn, Kellan, and Fiona Kessler and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Marie Kessler, sister Karen Kreutner, and brother Frederick Kessler. She will be missed by so many dear friends. With her unwavering faith in Christ it is a comfort to know she is at peace in heaven.

As a fellow member of Valpo '68 I remember Susie Kessler as an outstanding, kind and enthusiastic character. She was one of those active people whom everyone knew. It's lovely to see she had such a wonderful, fulfilling life. My sympathy to the family.
