Suzanne W. Jones

JONES, Suzanne W. "Suzy" – of Birch Run, age 65, died peacefully at home on Friday, September 12, 2025, with family and friends by her side. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 4PM until 8PM, and on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Birch Run Athletics.

Suzanne was born on December 8, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Alvin and Doris (Gransden) Nearing. She graduated from Birch Run High School with the class of 1978. Suzy married Duane Jones on January 6, 1979, at Taymouth Presbyterian Church. She dedicated 27 years to her various roles at Galen E. Wilson Petroleum in Saginaw. Suzy loved spending time at Wixom Lake, where she enjoyed relaxing days by the water and fun times with family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors and looked forward to snowmobiling in the winter and riding motorcycles during the warm months. Her journeys with Duane took her coast to coast around the country from north to south (with never a wrong turn). Above all, Suzy's heart was most at home with her family. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Surviving are: Husband, Duane Jones; Son, Dan Jones; Daughter, Melanie (Jamie) Matthews; Grandchildren: Evan, Katelyn, Weston, Saylor, and Parker; Father, Alvin Nearing; Sisters: Laura (Gerald) Fox, and Peggy (Rick) Wright; Many other loving family members, and dear friends.
