DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Orange Street LocationSuzanne B. McCarty, 90, of Lancaster, passed away on October 3, 2025 at her home. She was the loving wife of Richard “Dick” E. McCarty to whom she was married to for 69 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. and Lillian V. (Rudolph) Beal.
After graduating from Haverford High School, she attended Susquehanna University and received her Medical Secretary Certification.
Sue spent the majority of her adult life as a homemaker dedicating herself to her adoring family.
She was a member at Highland Presbyterian Church where she was very active as an Elder, a Deacon and served on the Hospitality and Finance Committees.
In her spare time, Suzanne enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family. She volunteered on transport runs with the Manheim Township Ambulance Association. She was an avid knitter and provided countless prayer shawls to the Deacons at her church.
In addition to her husband Dick, she is survived by children, Randall McCarty (husband of Sherri) of Lancaster, PA, Geoffrey McCarty (husband of Laura) of Roanoke, VA, Jeanne Bell (wife of Michael) of East Petersburg, PA and Nancy Huhn (wife of Joel) of Lancaster, PA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E Roseville Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the church memorial gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church at the address listed above or to Samaritan Counseling Center, 1803 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
