Sue McClure was born Suzanne Eunice Smith on December 24th, 1937 in Portland, Oregon to parents Lyle and Clara Smith. Sue married Philip McClure at the age of 19 on February 7th, 1957. She has resided in Fossil, Oregon for 50+ years and before that she followed her husband's career (State Policeman) from Portland to Baker to Fossil all in Oregon. They also did a stint in Texas while her husband was in the Army. Sue had 2 daughters, Elaine Fleming (& husband Bernie), and Teresa Aldrich, 3 grandchildren, Crystal Benson-Tate, Alex Aldrich, Austin Aldrich (& wife Rae), and one great-grandson, Daniel Tate all of whom she is survived by. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Sue attended beauty college and was a hairdresser and also worked a short time at Tektronix, a company in Portland. When the children were young she was a homemaker and grew a garden to end all gardens and canned what she and her family couldn't eat or trade. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, a community volunteer and a member of The First Baptist Church.
Sue passed peacefully in her sleep on December 3rd at High Lakes Home Care in Bend Oregon, she was 86. The family would like to thank the High Lakes for the care she received during the time she was there.
No service is planned at this time.

I am Phil´s cousin Carol and I just read Sue´s obituary. I am so sorry to hear she has passed. We used to email each other all of the time until she said her vision was not good enough. I will miss her as I do my cousin Phil.
