Suzanne Elizabeth O'Brien
Date Of Birth: 01/17/1960
Date of Death: 02/10/2023

Suzanne Elizbeth O'Brien of Portland, Oregon passed away on February 10, 2023 at her home.
She was born Susie Marshall on the Pine Ridge Oglala Sioux Reservation in South Dakota on January 17, 1960. She was adopted in May of 1963 by Tanya Ree and Robert James O'Brien of Lexington, MO.
Suzanne graduated from Lexington High School in 1978. She attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS.

Suzanne lived her life as freely as she possibly could. She worked most days, through the years at different places such as nursing homes, hotels, and places that helped kids with special needs. Suzanne took pride in parenting and being there for her children and her grandchildren as they grew in life. Suzanne loved to spoil them with everything she could including love, time, knowledge and contagious laughs. She loved to play pranks like jumping from behind a wall to scare you or wait until you're in a deep sleep and blast music really loud. She loved to joke with everyone around her, her laugh made you laugh, and she was always telling it like it is when needed. When she had time for herself, she enjoyed watching baseball, football, basketball, and WWE wrestling. Her favorite teams were the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors, and she enjoyed watching Undertaker and Roman Reigns. She also loved to cook and there wasn't any food on this planet that did not taste amazing when she put her love in it. She loved watching movies such as Coal Miner's Daughter, Rocky (all the movies), Carrie, The Way We Were, and so many others. Everyone who came into her life immediately saw her as the mom they never had. The name mom truly became hers and she wore it with so much pride.

She is survived by her children, Robert and wife Maria Pinkston of Portland, Nicole Pinkston and husband Clayton Lane of Portland and Ashley Pinkston and husband Tony Evans of Detroit MI…. her grandchildren Lorenzo, Malachi, Tony, Dakotah Sioux Tania Evans, and Elijah Antwan Evans. Her brothers ,Chris and Greta O'Brien of Overland Park,Ks and Tim and Laura O'Brien of Garland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, her brother Daniel O'Brien and granddaughter Neaveh Ashley Elizabeth Lane. "

So sorry to hear of Susie's passing. Sending prayers for her family to find comfort during this time. Susie was a classmate and our lockers were right next to each other. May she rest in peace.

Susie was one of my best friends growing up in Lexington. We had sleepovers and a lot of laughs. I haven't seen her since graduation, but I thought of her often. Her smile brightened up the world. I know, without a doubt, she had a life well loved.
