Suzanne C. Tanner

Suzanne Christian Tanner of Cranston, RI and West Hartford died Thursday, April 3, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Suzanne was born November 12, 1971, the daughter of Rene Tanner and the late John J. Tanner.
She was a graduate of Kingswood Oxford School, Hartwick College, and attended a program at Penland School of Crafts which led to her becoming a glass blower. She went on to open her own business as Tanner Glass, creating "Functional Objects for Everyday Life." Along with being an active member of The Foundry Artist Association. Suzanne was also a team member, teaching spinning, at Denise Chakoian's Core Cycle and Fitness Lagree Studio in Providence. Suzanne was an extraordinary warrior who fought cancer for 10 years. Throughout the years she remained unbelievably strong. An avid runner, a member of Garden City Run Club, and November Project. Her goal was to run the Hartford Marathon which she did October 9, 2021. She also spent countless winters on the ski slopes of Vermont and Colorado with family and friends. Another big part of her life was Quonnie, where she would always be seen running or walking her dogs, Olivia and Maggie.
Suzanne is survived by her brother Jay and his wife Andrea, and numerous caring cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 11th at 11am in the Church of St. Peter Claver, 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford, CT.
