Swanee Knoops Obituary

Swanee was born on April 25, 1940 in Midland Park, NJ a daughter of the late Martin and Alyda (Jeffer) Van Veen she lived for several years in Ashburnham before moving to Shirley 11 years ago.
Swanee was an active member of her West Virginia church. In her younger years she belonged to the church choir, garden club, new comers club as well as the church ladies group. The role that she took the most pride in was as homemaker, wife, and mother of three wonderful sons and as a fun and active grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Pieter Knoops of Shirley; three sons, Wayne S. Knoops and his wife, Jacqueline of Shirley, Robert J. Knoops and his wife, Paula of Daniels, WV and Peter D. Knoops and his wife Julianne of Tewksbury; a brother, William VanVeen of Yardley, PA; a sister, Marlene VanVeen of Doylestown, PA; seven grandchildren, Wayne Jr.,Michelle, Peter, Emily, Hannah, Kelsey, and Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Ayla, Trent, Brett, and Logan, and many nephews and nieces.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, at 11 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., Ayer followed by a burial in the Center Cemetery in Shirley. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held Friday morning prior to the service from 10AM to 11AM. For further information or to leave an online condolence please visit www.andersonfuneral.com.
