Canandaigua – Sybil-Ann (Locke) Kimble, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Melvin W. Kimble in 2005; and sister, Eileen L. Emerson in 2020. Mrs. Kimble is survived by three children, Susan K. (Michael) Martini of Santa Rosa, CA, James M. (Patricia) Kimble of Clifton Springs and Cynthia K. (Joseph) Bridgeford of Canandaigua; three grandchildren, Jacob M. (Elizabeth) Martini of Windsor, CA, Jessica Kimble Wood (Brendan Wood) of Canandaigua and James Joseph Bridgeford of Balston Spa, NY; four great-grandchildren, Henry Joseph Wood, Greta Katharine Wood, Lorelei Grace Wood and Zachary T. Martini.

Mrs. Kimble was born in 1931 in Canandaigua and was the daughter of James L. and Sybil (Griffith) Locke. She was a lifelong Canandaigua resident. Mrs. Kimble and her husband Melvin were grade school classmates and high school sweethearts. They married in July of 1952 in Canandaigua. She was a graduate of the former Union School in Canandaigua and a 1949 graduate of Canandaigua Academy. Mrs. Kimble attended Genesee Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a lab technician at Clifton Springs Hospital in the 1950's. Mrs. Kimble was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church. She was a granddaughter of Fred M. Locke, inventor of the porcelain high voltage insulator and founder of Victor Insulators in Victor.

Her memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 22, at 11 am, at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Boughton Hill Cemetery, Victor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen (breast cancer), 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
