Doris "D.D." Hoffman

Canandaigua – Doris "D.D." Hoffman, age 92, passed away after a brief illness, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with her family by her side. She is survived by four nieces, Jawan (Charlie) Betts, Janis (Michael) Mosher, Jody Theocharakis and Julie (Phil) Megaffee; three nephews, John Hoffman, Jadon (Anne) Hoffman and James Hoffman; many grand-nieces and many grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her lifelong friend, Mary "Pat" Allison in 2010; brother, C. "Gray" Hoffman in 2007; nieces, Jennifer Hoffman in 1973 and Jessica Bean in 2016.

D.D. was born in Canandaigua and was the daughter of George E. and Eleinor (Gray) Hoffman. She attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1951. D.D. was a US Army Veteran serving with the Women's Army Corp for five years, spending two years in Germany. She lived in California for 23 years and moved back to the Canandaigua area in 1985. D.D. was a member of the American Legion Post 256. She loved her pets and animals. In her early years, D.D. enjoyed riding, showing and jumping horses.

Services are private. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario County Humane Society, 2976 Co. Rd. 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
